VIAL MATADERO

A visual and sonic essay on Matadero Madrid, its historical and architectural heritage, and the people who inhabit, care for and remember it. Moving through its public spaces, backstage areas and underground passages, the film looks at the site as a place of artistic creation, work, memory and transformation. (23 min.)

Four months wandering through Matadero with a camera, searching for what still remains within its walls. A place built around death, now filled with light, voices and creation. But spaces do not forget; they slowly transform those who inhabit them. And perhaps every city is just that: a memory that continues breathing in another form.

Cuatro meses recorriendo Matadero con una cámara, buscando lo que todavía permanece dentro de sus muros. Un lugar construido alrededor de la muerte, ahora lleno de luz, voces y creación. Pero los espacios no olvidan; transforman lentamente a quienes los habitan. Y quizá cada ciudad sea simplemente eso: una memoria que sigue respirando bajo otra forma.
