      VIAL MATADERO

A visual and sonic essay exploring the historical and architectural heritage of El Matadero, alongside its inhabitants, caretakers and ghosts. Through a journey across the many layers of this century-old cultural landmark, the film portrays Matadero as a vibrant urban space shaped not only by artistic creation, but also by the human and material infrastructure that sustains it. Moving through its backstage areas, underground passages and public spaces, the film encounters workers, former slaughterhouse employees, local residents, students and artists whose lives remain deeply connected to the site. Far from conventional documentary reportage, the film adopts an expressionistic and wonder-filled gaze on Matadero and its ever-evolving social and cultural landscape. (23 min.)

Four months wandering through El Matadero with a camera, searching for what still remains within its walls.
A place built around death, now filled with light, voices and creation.
But spaces do not forget; they slowly transform those who inhabit them.
And perhaps every city is just that — a memory that continues breathing in another form.
